CITY OF FRUITLAND BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATIONS
Application for a building permit should be made prior to starting any work. (Commercial plans must be reviewed and approved by other agencies prior to building permit being issued.) Work described in any building permit must begin within 90 days from the date of issuance or said permit shall expire. If the work described in any building permit has not been substantially completed within one year of the date of issuance, said permit shall expire and be canceled. Another permit must then be obtained.
NEEDED FOR NEW OR ALTERED STRUCTURES
SITE PLAN (3 sets or 2 sets if not requiring signed copy returned)
Drawn to scale, showing dimensions of lot, location of proposed building/addition, and location of any existing structures on same lot. Indicate setbacks from all lot lines and from other structures on the lot. The owner/ contractor is responsible for meeting minimal setback requirements. (See Zoning Ordinance for district regulations.)
FLOOR PLAN (3 sets - 48" X 30" maximum size or 2 sets if not requiring signed copy returned)
Include on the floor plans the property owner’s name, site location, scope of work to be performed and any other information required by the International Building Code. For other than one and two-family dwellings, see the guidelines required for fire code plan review. Maryland State Law requires an architectural seal on plans for commercial and industrial buildings (including additions).
INDOOR PLUMBING PERMIT
Obtain from Wicomico County Health Department an indoor plumbing permit for new, additional or altered indoor plumbing. Submit one copy of the plumbing permit when applying for building permit.
PLAN REVIEW & PERMITTING DECK GUIDE

Prior to the issuance of a building permit the permit fee, sewer and/or water tap installation fees (if any), impact fees, and/or any other fees ordered collectible by the Fruitland City Council must be paid.
